Smokey Mountain Trucking Institute offers two programs at this time. Class A CDL consists of a complete 185 contact hour program. Registration fee is $150.00 and tuition is $4,000.00 - less any scholarships you may qualify for. Veteran or Safe Driver scholarships are available on a limited basis. There are some funds available thru WIA and the veterans program ABCCM, for those that qualify.
Small truck Pick Up and Delivery training registration fee is $50.00 and tuition is $1,500.00. The Pick Up and Delivery Class consists of a 45 hour program. (This program is FedEx approved).
(Tuition does not include license fees, drug screen, D.O.T. physical, or room and board).
There are several options available
to assist with tuition for your training. An SMTI Admissions
Representative will counsel you as to the best avenue
available for your individual situation. Almost all
of the trucking companies we work with offer
reimbursement for all or most of your tuition cost.
Some of the most commonly used methods
to pay for training are:
- Personal loans, credit lines, and credit cards
- Student Loans available through our Financial
Aid Department
- Workforce Investment Act funding available through
your state
- Vocational Rehabilitation Programs
- Carrier-Sponsored Training and more
