At Smokey Mountain Trucking Institute, our mission is to offer commercial driver education that exceeds our students’ expectations by providing innovative and premium quality instruction in our training program. Certification
The professional operator of a commercial vehicle needs
to be formally trained. The program at SMTI, now in its 3rd
year, is recognized and authorized by the Tennessee
Higher Education Commission.*
SMTI utilizes classroom instruction, range and road driving,
and practical application of skills used in highway driving.
* This authorization must be renewed each year and is based on an evaluation by minimum standards concerning quality of education, ethical business practices, health and safety, and financial responsibility.
